Due to sustained interest and donation activity as we approached our official campaign end date of July 31, we are happy to announce that we have extended the Mendota Blue Movement through August 31, 2012. Memorial Union is one of the most beloved destinations on campus and has not undergone a comprehensive restoration since its completion in 1928. The goal of the Memorial Union Reinvestment project is to help ensure that future generations of students, faculty, staff and Union members can continue to create new memories and traditions into the next century. Its mission is to preserve the historic elements of this campus architectural treasure, provide improvements to enhance programming and address accessibility needs.

From the end of April through July, the Wisconsin Union and UW Credit Union partnered together to raise funds to support the Memorial Union Reinvestment project. During this time, limited edition Mendota Blue chairs were comingled with the traditional green, orange and yellow chairs to help bring awareness of the campaign. Individuals could make donations through mendotablue.org or through UW Credit Union’s Web Branch. Mementos were available with various giving levels including a Mendota Blue sunburst keychain, mini chair or full-size limited edition Mendota Blue terrace chair. Donations at all giving levels are greatly appreciated and are making a meaningful impact toward preserving the past and building the future of the Memorial Union. Learn more »
