Choose Your Cell Phone Plan Wisely

Try these tips to help save a few extra dollars on your bill.

1. Research plans.
   A lot of plans seem very similar at first glance, but where they differ is the extras and add-ons. Find a package that fits your individual needs and don't forget to consider a prepaid plan if you don't use your phone very often.
2. Plan your messaging.
   All carriers charge for text messages, however many of them have plans to help you save. Choose a number that seems reasonable for you, or get the unlimited package if you text a lot.
3. Don't fall for all the extras.
   Many carriers will try to get you to add a lot of extras on your plan, such as insurance. Do you really need it if you are someone who is careful with your phone? Plus, most insurance policies require a $50 deductible for any claims.
4. Choose a popular carrier.
   Most carriers offer a discount for calling other subscribers on their service. So if many of your family and friends are on the same service, you might benefit from choosing the same one.
