Free Credit Reports for Wisconsin Residents
Beginning March 1, 2005, Wisconsin residents can request a free credit report to
review their credit accounts and identify any inaccuracies. The federal Fair and
Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act) requires each of the three consumer
reporting companies to provide a free copy of your credit report, at your request,
once every 12 months. If you live in a state other than Wisconsin, go to ftc.gov
to see when the free credit reports are available to you.
To Order Your Free Report:
- call 877-322-8228
- complete the Annual Credit Report Request Form at http://ftc.gov/credit
The free reports are only available through these means. Online requests are processed
immediately. Telephone or mailed requests are processed and mailed within 15 days
of receipt.
