UWCU Phishing Alert

UW Credit Union has found evidence that indicates our members are currently being
targeted by a "phishing"* attack. To avoid becoming a victim of this attack, we
recommend that our members take the following actions:
- DO NOT respond to any email that asks you to validate or update your UW Credit Union
account information.
- If you receive an email asking you to verify UWCU account information, please copy
and forward the email to
abuse@uwcu.org. (If you need instructions for performing this task contact
us at the phone numbers listed below.)
- IMPORTANT: If you have already responded to this type of email request, please contact
our customer service center immediately at 608-232-5000 (local) or 1-800-533-6773
(toll free).
UW Credit Union will NEVER send you an unsolicited email requesting that you update
or validate your account information. Any such request is a fraud attempt and should
be reported to UW Credit Union.
*What is phishing?
"Phishing" is the use of email and fraudulent Web sites to trick recipients into
disclosing personal financial information, such as credit card numbers, Social Security
numbers, account names, passwords, and addresses.
