Online Security—UW Credit Union's Safeguards
With our sophisticated combination of software and hardware security measures, UW Credit Union has up-to-date safeguards that meet or exceed the industry standards for Internet security.
Firewalls
For added security your data passes through a system of firewalls, which are computers specifically designed to keep out unauthorized users. Use of these firewalls provides a barrier between the Internet and your private information stored on UW Credit Union's system.
Intrusion Detection and System Monitoring
We have implemented Intrusion Detection Systems and other system monitoring tools designed to alert security personnel to attacks against our credit union's systems. These Intrusion Detection Systems also provide extensive logging for forensic analysis.
Anti-Virus
UW Credit Union systems are configured with anti-virus protection that automatically updates on a daily basis. This helps prevent infection of UW Credit Union systems by computer viruses and other malicious code. For the security of your home computer system and your Web Branch transactions, we recommend that you install anti-virus technology.
Web Branch Lockouts
Web Branch accounts are locked out after a set number of unsuccessful logon attempts, which protects your private information from random password guessing. If your account has been locked out, please use the password reset form in Web Branch or contact us to have your password reset.
Disaster Recovery
To help ensure system availability and critical data integrity, UW Credit Union has disaster recovery plans for all critical systems using industry standard data backup procedures.
