What is VerifyU?

VerifyU™ is UW Credit Union's online authentication system for Web Branch users. This unique feature adds another layer of online security to help prevent fraud. Here's how it works.

Questions and Answers

When a Web Branch user enrolls in VerifyU, they are required to answer a series of personal questions. While navigating Web Branch, the user may be prompted to answer certain VerifyU questions to confirm their identity. Answers must match exactly to the ones previously recorded by the user. Incorrect answers will prompt more questions or prevent the user from continuing. To the valid user, answering these previously answered questions will be easy. For unauthorized users, the questions are difficult to guess.

Access Validation

This system also automatically records typical access behavior for each user and authenticates these attributes during each Web Branch session. VerifyU is able to recognize when your current site-access characteristics do not match your typical access characteristics. This mismatch may initiate the VerifyU questions to validate your identity. We may also randomly ask the VerifyU personal questions depending on how often you use the system or for more sensitive transactions as well.
