For the second straight year, UW Credit Union was the top producing mortgage lender in Dane County for WHEDA residential mortgage loans. WHEDA (Wisconsin Home and Economic Development Authority) offers innovative products and services in partnership with lenders to provide low-cost financing for housing and small business development in Wisconsin.

UW Credit Union is the first Wisconsin Financial Institution to go mobile. Members will now be able to use their cell phones or other mobile devices with built in Web browsers to check their account balances and history (with check images), make transfers and loan payments, utilize Web Pay and access Money Link, a free service that allows anyone to transfer money electronically to a UW Credit Union member.

Construction will begin on a new UW Credit Union full-service branch at 250 South Grand Avenue in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin (just North of Hwy 151 on County C). The new branch, scheduled to open in August 2008, will be in the heart of Sun Prairie’s growing west side community.

At noon on Tuesday, December 18, Mayor Dave Cieslewicz will be at UW Credit Union’s Monroe Street Branch; 1435 Monroe Street; to acknowledge the branch’s distinguished “Silver” certification from U.S. Green Building Council in Washington D.C. This branch is the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified credit union in the Midwest.

UW Credit Union has joined WHEDA in the launch of Homeowner’s HOPE program to help homeowners in Wisconsin facing foreclosure. Through this program, homeowners who may be in danger of facing foreclosure can call 888-995-HOPE to talk to a counselor who will work with them to understand their situation, find a solution and refer them to a trusted lender for refinancing options.
