UW Credit Union to Sponsor Free Home Buyers Fair

March 15, 2010 – UW Credit Union is proud to announce their sponsorship of this year’s Home Buyers Fair, presented by the Home Buyers Round Table of Dane County. The 2010 Home Buyers Fair will be held on March 20, 2010, at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. This free fair will feature homeownership resource exhibits and home buyer seminars, which together will educate attendees about owning a home. It is open to the public from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and has free parking.

UW Credit Union will have an exhibit at the Fair, with home loan specialists on hand to answer questions attendees may have. Additional exhibitors at the fair include housing industry experts such as Realtors, down payment assistance program representatives, budgeting and credit counselors, home inspectors, home builders, energy and weatherization experts, property insurance agents and title insurance company representatives.

In addition, attendees can earn a Home Buyer Education Certificate in one day by attending the free seminars held at the fair. The certificate is required for many first-time home loan programs and down payment assistance programs. Attendees can also enter to win one of two $1,500 grants to put toward their down payment and closing costs. A schedule of seminars can be found at homebuyersroundtable.org.
