To help members of the community safely dispose of unwanted personal documents, UW Credit Union has teamed up with Shred-it Inc. to host a free “shredding party” on May 4 and May 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For the third consecutive year, consumers are invited to bring their personal, confidential papers (up to five boxes) to be safely shredded and recycled for free, saving both our landfills and natural resources.

“Our shredding party last spring exceeded our expectations,” says Paul Kundert, UW Credit Union President and CEO. “Nearly 2.5 tons of confidential documents were shredded, recycled, and made into new paper products.” Mr. Kundert adds, “Conservation is everyone’s responsibility. Our paperless banking solutions offer convenience and conserve resources. Since we began offering Web Statements in June 2002, more than 60,000 members have signed up, saving nearly 5 million sheets of paper—and counting.” Mr. Kundert emphasizes, “Together, we can conserve resources and create a better world for everyone.”
