UW Credit Union is Dane County’s Top WHEDA Lender

Madison, WI – March 18, 2008 – For the second straight year, UW Credit Union was the top producing mortgage lender in Dane County for WHEDA residential mortgage loans. WHEDA (Wisconsin Home and Economic Development Authority) offers innovative products and services in partnership with lenders to provide low-cost financing for housing and small business development in Wisconsin.

“We are pleased to be the top producing WHEDA lender in Dane County again in 2007,” said Paul Kundert, President and CEO. “It clearly demonstrates our commitment to providing affordable credit to first time home buyers and people at all income levels.” According to federally published data UW Credit Union’s home purchase lending activity to moderate and low-income borrowers has increased from $19 million annually in 2004 to nearly $38 million in the most recently published reports.
