Keep Online Transactions Safe with Verified by Visa Service

Internet shoppers prefer to use their Visa card for online purchases, so it's critical that the transaction is secure. Most Internet retailers have security measures built in to their site. For an extra layer of protection, Visa created "Verified by Visa." This service is available for UW Credit Union Visa credit cardholders, and will be available in the near future on UW Credit Union Visa Debit Cards.

Verified by Visa allows cardholders to select a password that becomes their online "signature" for Web transactions. Each time the cardholder makes a purchase at a participating online merchant, they are automatically presented with a Verified by Visa pop-up window to enter their password. Once entered, the password is verified, and the transaction proceeds accordingly.

Implementing this tool helps ensure that only you can use your Visa card to buy online. To select your password, go to the Verified by Visa Web page. In just a couple easy steps, you'll have your password and can be even more confident using your UW Credit Union credit card for online purchases.
