What will the Wiscard UW Credit Union Program allow me to do?
If you add this optional feature to your Wiscard, you'll be able to use it at ATMs to make withdrawals, deposits or balance inquiries. You'll also be able to use your Wiscard to perform PIN-based debit transactions at businesses.
Who can participate in the Wiscard UW Credit Union Program?
Any student, faculty, staff or affiliate with a valid University of Wisconsin- Madison ID card can link their UW Credit Union checking account to their Wiscard.
Where can I get a Wiscard so I can participate in the Wiscard UW Credit Union Program?
Your University of Wisconsin-Madison photo ID card is your Wiscard. For more information, visit wiscard.wisc.edu.
If I'm not a UW Credit Union member, how do I take advantage of the Wiscard UW Credit Union Program?
Simply bring your Wiscard and valid Class A ID* to any UW Credit Union branch. We'll help you open a checking account and link your Wiscard to that account. You will also be able to choose your own PIN. You can then start using your Wiscard as an ATM card and to make PIN-based debit transactions that day.
If I'm already a UW Credit Union member, how do I link my Wiscard to my checking account?
Link your Wiscard to your existing checking account at any of our branches. Remember to bring your Wiscard and a valid Class A ID.*
Is the Wiscard UW Credit Union Program safe?
Yes. Your Wiscard will not include your 14-digit UW Credit Union Program account number on the front or back of the card. If it is lost or stolen, it cannot be used without your PIN.
Where do funds get taken from when I use the Wiscard UW Credit Union Program?
ATM and PIN-based debit transactions will get deducted from your UW Credit Union checking account only, not your Wiscard Campus Accounts, which include Campus Cash, Housing Food and Union Meal.
Can UW Credit Union add money to my Wiscard Campus Accounts?
UW Credit Union can only add funds to your checking account, not your Wiscard Campus Accounts.
What if I lose my Wiscard that's linked to my UW Credit Union checking account?
To deactivate the Wiscard UW Credit Union Program, contact UW Credit Union at 800-533-6773 or deactivate your card through Web Branch. To deactivate all other Wiscard accounts, visit wiscard.wisc.edu. You can also alert the Wisconsin Union Cashier's Office at 608-263-1964 or stop by any University Housing Residence Hall Desk. Once your accounts are deactivated, no one else can access them. You can obtain a new card at the Wiscard Office in Memorial Union. There is a $25 replacement fee. Once you have obtained your replacement Wiscard, visit any UW Credit Union branch to link your Wiscard to the UW Credit Union Program account.
Is my Wiscard a Qualifying Service with Rewards Checking or Campus Package?
Using your Wiscard UW Credit Union Program account monthly is a Qualifying Service for Visa® Debit Card, ATM card or linked Wiscard.
Should I replace my current UW Credit Union debit card with the Wiscard UW Credit Union Program account card?
The Visa Debit Card is free and offers even more flexibility to use along with the Wiscard UW Credit Union Program card. You can use it to make purchases at merchants where a signature is required and to make online purchases.
