Protect Yourself From Credit and Debit Card Fraud; Be aware of a recent trend called smishing, where criminals

The messages appear to come from a bank or credit union and direct the recipient to a website or a phone number where an automated system requests your card number and other personal information.

UW Credit Union will never send an unsolicited text message that requests you to confirm or update your password or account information. If you receive a text message asking you to supply personal information related to your UW Credit Union accounts, consider the message a smishing "attack" and contact us immediately.

Also, remember that any text message you receive from UW Credit Union will include the security phrase you set in Web Branch.
