UWCU Offices Closed June 19 in Celebration of Juneteenth

Flag-raising to help commemorate this historic milestone

Members of UWCU's Black Excellence Employee Resource Group, alongside allies, hold up the Juneteenth flag.

Madison, WI – June 12, 2023 – In observance of Juneteenth – a nationally recognized federal holiday – all UW Credit Union locations will be closed Monday, June 19. As always, our Mobile App, Web Branch and ATMs are available 24x7.

“Juneteenth is equal parts celebration and remembrance and promotes knowledge about our shared history and heroes,” said Sheila Milton, UW Credit Union’s vice president of DEI and community partnerships. “We’re proud to offer our employees the day off with holiday pay to celebrate an important milestone in our nation’s journey, while recognizing that much work remains. Together, let’s embrace the diversity that enriches us and actively support our progress toward a more inclusive future.”

The Juneteenth flag will fly at the credit union’s headquarters, 3500 University Ave., Madison from June 16, through the remainder of June.
