Community Giving

We strive to be a force for good in our communities. It starts with dedicated member service and continues through our charitable efforts, financial well-being programs and scholarships.

Our social mission is simple: improve the financial well-being of people-- putting our members’ best interest first.

We focus on activities in the Madison and greater Milwaukee areas aligned with our organizational values that improve access to:

Education: Financial education as well as high school diploma/GED completion and post-secondary educational opportunities that promote economic mobility

Housing: Stable, affordable housing and pathways to homeownership

We partner with non-profit organizations through philanthropic, volunteer, in-kind and pro bono efforts, promoting financial stability and economic mobility in those communities with an emphasis on people historically excluded from financial services.

Learn more about our giving initiatives and impact in our most recent annual report.

Want to partner with us? Review our funding guidelines and fill out an application. We'd love to hear from you.

Educational Giving & Scholarships

As a credit union founded on a college campus, we are fierce advocates for students and learning.

We give thousands of much-needed scholarship dollars to hardworking students every year. And, we offer paid internships and financial literacy events to help young people build a strong foundation for their future success.

Financial Education

We are committed to providing valuable and affordable services to promote people's financial well-being.

Our free financial seminars are open to the public and include important topics such as budgeting, borrowing, homebuying, understanding credit and managing debt.

We also offer free Credit Consultations for members and non-members by phone or in person. These no-obligation, no-judgement sessions provide a professional review of your finances and ways to help you save and improve your financial situation.

More Ways We Give Back

At UW Credit Union, we put our values to work and provide support in different ways:

Employee volunteering - All employees are given the benefit of paid volunteer hours each year to give back on an individual level.

Shred-It - We offer secure document shredding several times a year in Madison and Milwaukee that's free and open to the public. Follow us on social for details on upcoming events.

Local sponsorships - We support a variety of community events and services through sponsored opportunities.

Branch advocacy - With locations across Wisconsin, including La Crosse, Green Bay and Stevens Point, our branch teams connect with hyperlocal causes through volunteering, donations and sponsorships.
