Grant Funding Guidelines

Application and Review Process

Our funding application process is meant to be accessible. We recommend brief, conversational responses and welcome partners to recycle information from other grant proposals you've made.

In short, we're more interested in learning about how your organization supports financial stability in our communities than we are in grammar, word choice and spelling.

We have one grant cycle annually that opens in early January with decisions communicated by mid-April. If you have questions please email communitysupport@uwcu.org.

In the meantime, please feel free to reach out if your organization would benefit from other forms of partnership — including in-kind donation lists, volunteer needs or requests for financial education.

Funding Limitations

We've firmly defined our funding limitations to ensure a fair and systematic process for evaluating requests. These limitations align with our business practices and allow us to support the communities we serve and uphold our core values.

UW Credit Union’s community giving programs do not support:

  • Educational or travel grants
  • Contests, competitions or pageants
  • Trips or conventions
  • Political or labor organizations
  • Religious programs or programs that serve, or appear to serve, specific religious groups or denominations
  • Organizations or initiatives outside UW Credit Union’s market

UW Credit Union will not fund any organization that discriminates for any reason, including on the basis of race, religion, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and national origin.

Non-profit organizations seeking support must be a 501(c)(3) and not be a private foundation.
