VITA program results
UW Credit Union participated in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for the ninth consecutive year. VITA helps prepare tax returns for low to moderate income households free of charge, making sure that participants take advantage of all available deductions. The program completed over 290 tax returns this year and returned nearly $560,000 in federal and state refunds.

UW Credit Union employees review returns completed by VITA volunteers and answer any questions participants have along the way. The 34 volunteers contributed 963 volunteer hours to the program and saved clients over $50,000 in tax preparation fees.
