J. Michael Collins Joins UW Credit Union Board of Directors
MADISON, WI - June 28, 2018 - J. Michael Collins has been appointed to the Board of Directors of UW Credit Union. Collins currently serves as the Fetzer Family Chair in Consumer and Personal Finance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Human Ecology and is faculty director of the Center for Financial Security.
“Michael brings a great depth of leadership experience in the areas of consumer decision making, family economics, and household finance,” says Paul Kundert, President and CEO of UW Credit Union. “We are excited to welcome him to the Board and know that his contributions will further serve the needs of our members.”
Collins is also an associate professor at the Robert M. La Follette School of Public Affairs, a family economic specialist at the University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension and an affiliate with the Institute for Research on Poverty, focusing on financial capability and well-being for low-income households. His research has been cited by national foundations and agencies, helping to guide policy in consumer finance. He holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University, a master’s degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a B.S. from Miami University.
