UW Credit Union Recognized for Lending Performance with 2018 CU Direct Best Practices in Lending Award
MADISON, WI - July 11, 2018 - UW Credit Union has been recognized by CU Direct for Excellence in Indirect Lending. The 2018 CU Direct Best Practices in Lending Award was presented to UW Credit Union on June 1 at Drive ‘18, the top lending technology conference in the credit union industry, held in Grapevine, Texas. The award is given to credit unions with achievements in lending innovation, development of the indirect lending business and engagement with local auto dealerships.
“We’re proud to be recognized by CU Direct for our indirect lending program. We’ve developed relationships with dealers that treat our members fairly and with respect,” says Mike Long, executive vice president and chief credit officer. “Our efficient and reliable loan services allow us to provide value to both dealers and members.”
The approach includes use of tools like the AutoSMART Program, which provides loan pre-approvals that benefit both dealers and members. Credit union members can select a vehicle on UW Credit Union’s website or call to get pre-approved. When they arrive at the dealer, they are already approved for financing. “This tool expedites the process and offers better service to members,” says Long.
“Our indirect lending strategy to provide information, tools and great service has led to our success. We act as a dealer partner, and provide vital information to dealers, bringing specific information to them for their territory on issues such as fraud protection and compliance,” says Lee Decker, indirect lending sales manager. “Our expert, caring staff and streamlined process has improved efficiency and service, and the addition of programs like AutoFlex has provided flexibility to payment-conscious members, expanding our loan volume and membership growth.”
CU Direct is a leading provider of lending technology to credit unions and creator of lending platforms such as CU Direct Lending (CUDL), offering access for credit union financing to auto dealers nationwide, connecting 1,000 credit unions with 13,000 auto dealers. The service organization provides customer applications, training and marketing programs for credit unions.
