We’re Here For Every You.

Groceries, gas, healthcare — the cost of living has gone up, and it's stretching a lot of household budgets right now. That's exactly when you need to know your credit union is standing on solid ground. Your deposits are safe, your rates stay fair, and we don't change our commitment to you when the economy gets tougher. Here's a look at the financial strength that backs up our promises:

  • $475.2M in cash and Federal Reserve deposits — available right now
  • $994.6M in investment securities, with 38% maturing within the next 12 months
  • $1.8B in backup borrowing capacity from the Federal Home Loan Bank and Federal Reserve
  • $0 in brokered deposits — we're funded entirely by our members

We carry $619M in capital reserves — 31.6% above the threshold required for our highest "well-capitalized" designation. That's not a response to the current environment. It's how we've always approached growth: carefully, sustainably, and with our members' long-term interests as the measure of success.

"We're financially strong, and well positioned for the current economic environment, which enables us to be a trusted partner. Now in our 95th year, UW Credit Union has the financial strength to continue serving our members through economic uncertainty." - Joe Liethen, Chief Financial Officer

Being Member-Owned is a Promise.
Here’s What Keeping It Looked Like This Quarter.

$9.4M million back in your pocket — and counting

Members with a Rewards Checking account earn up to 2% cash back on every credit card purchase. No annual fee. Through the second quarter of 2026, that's already added up to $9.4M returned to members.

Free Early Payday — already reaching 153,088 members

More than 153,000 members get their paycheck up to two days early — at no charge. It sounds like a small thing. For the member with a bill due Thursday, it isn't.

We saved members more than $2.2M in overdraft fees this quarter

Here's how overdraft fees typically work at most institutions: your balance runs low, and you're charged $25 or $35 — sometimes several times in a single day, for transactions already in motion.

We designed Balance Backup differently. One fee. One time per day. Just $5 — no matter how many transactions come through while your balance is low. You stay covered. You stay in control. You don't get buried in penalty fees for one tight week.

In Q2 alone, that approach saved our members more than $2.2M compared to what they'd have paid elsewhere. We think that's just the right way to run a financial institution.

We Help You Build The Life You’re Working Toward

  •  $4.7B | Total loan balances at quarter end
  • $823M | New loans funded in Q2 — up 12.5% from Q2 2025
  • 18.5% | Annualized loan growth rate
  • 0.48% | Our loan delinquency rate*

*For context: the national average for banks, as reported by the FDIC, is 0.98%.

More members borrowing with us reflects the trust they place in us — and our loan quality reflects the care with which we honor that trust.

A Credit Union More People Are Choosing — And Recommending

When members find real value — in their rates, their accounts, their experience — they stay, and they tell others. That's the kind of growth we're most proud of.

Growing net interest income is how we sustain the financial strength members depend on. It funds our operations without being dependent on member-paid fees, builds our reserves, and gives us the resources to keep improving.

Net interest income through the second quarter reached $117.3M, up 11.9% from Q2 2025. We earn that by showing up the same way, again and again: fair products, real savings, and a credit union that's easy to work with. When members trust us enough to recommend us, that's the highest mark we can earn.

Owned by You. Built For You. Here For You.

Every dollar of net income we report stays in this credit union — building reserves, improving products, and working for the 396,812 members who own it.

Ninety-five years in, we've weathered challenging economic conditions before. What doesn't change is this: our job is to be a steady, fair, and capable financial partner — whatever the environment. That's what your membership is built on. Thank you for trusting us with your money, your goals, and your financial future.
