Free Personal Finance Course for High School Student Members in Spring 2027
Helping our members thrive at every age and stage is a core part of our mission. That’s why we’re introducing a new perk for our high school members that can help them get ahead in their college education and feel more confident managing their money.
UW Credit Union is sponsoring a select number of eligible members1 for enrollment in Intro to Personal Finance, an online course at UW-Green Bay taking place during the spring semester of 2027.
Students who complete the course could earn 3 college credits – a $375 value – and satisfy their personal financial literacy high school graduation requirement.

What Students Will Learn
Intro to Personal Finance teaches students about money management building blocks so they can feel more confident and equipped to deal with finances on their own. Topics include:
- Creating and using a budget
- Credit management
- Long-term saving strategies
- Protecting themselves from identity theft
Intro to Personal Finance will take place during the spring semester from Jan. 25 – May 14, 2027.
This is an asynchronous online course, so students can take it during their study hall periods or other times that work with their schedule.
Eligibility & How to Apply
Students eligible for sponsorship of this course must be:
- Wisconsin residents in public or private school
- In grades 9-12 during the 2026/2027 school year
- Maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
