The Plaza Has Our Name on It. It Belongs to the Fans.

Milwaukee, WI (September 15, 2026) - Walk up to American Family Field on a game day now, and before you even reach the gates, you're already part of something. Live music. A beer garden. Kids racing through a cow-themed play yard. A mini-golf course shaped like the state you live in. That's the UW Credit Union Plaza — and here's the thing worth knowing about it: it's completely free, open to everyone, no ticket required.

Yes, it has our name on the sign. But this one was never about the sign. As our CEO put it at the ribbon cutting: "It may have our name on it, but it belongs to the fans."

Five years, one growing partnership

UW Credit Union first partnered with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2019. In 2021, we became the team's presenting sponsor. And in 2026, that partnership that partnership grew into something new: a permanent, free gathering space built for every fan, not just ticket holders. Five years in, it's just the latest way we've shown up for Brewers fans.

Game day, the way Wisconsin does it

Anyone who's tailgated at a Brewers game knows a Wisconsin game day isn't really about nine innings. It's an all-day thing — grills going hours before first pitch, friends showing up early just to hang around, kids running around the lot while the adults catch up. The Plaza was built to close the gap between that parking-lot energy and the gates themselves, so the party doesn't have to pause while you make your way in.

It's also, in its own small way, a nod to how much this stadium has changed while staying exactly the same in spirit. County Stadium. Miller Park. Now American Family Field — though plenty of longtime fans still call it County Stadium out of pure stubborn love. Names change. The devotion doesn't.

Built by Wisconsinites, for Wisconsinites

Every detail in the Plaza was designed to feel unmistakably local, courtesy of Milwaukee-based TKWA, the same firm behind 3rd Street Market Hall and Zócalo Food Truck Park. The mini-golf course's first hole is shaped like Wisconsin itself, complete with a Lake Michigan water feature, and later holes nod to the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail, the bluffs of the Driftless Region, and the Hoan Bridge. The Joie Play Yard leans into the state's dairy heritage with a cow theme that's become an instant favorite with younger fans. None of this happened by accident — it was shaped by people who grew up cheering for this team, in this state.

More than a plaza

The Plaza is the newest, most visible piece of a partnership that's included the Student Achievers Program and Here for a Cause charitable donations tied to Brewers wins — a pattern of showing up for this community in ways that go beyond a logo on a wall.
