UWCU Earns Equality 100 Award

Honor recognizes commitment to LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion

The Equality 100 Leader in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion award from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

For the second straight year, UW Credit Union has received a top score of 100 in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index, the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.

In all, 545 major U.S. businesses earned top marks this year and are recipients of the Equality 100 Award: Leader in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion.

The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria in four categories:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families
  • Supporting an inclusive culture
  • Corporate social responsibility

Companies rated in the CEI include Fortune magazine’s 500 largest publicly traded businesses, American Lawyer magazine’s top 200 revenue-grossing law firms (AmLaw 200), and hundreds of publicly and privately held mid- to large-sized businesses.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation periodically strengthens its CEI scoring criteria to remain focused on emerging best practices. Such was the case this year, demonstrating UWCU’s commitment to remaining a leader in LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion.
