Terry Warfield Joins UW Credit Union Board of Directors

Warfield adds extensive banking and accounting expertise

Terry Warfield joins UWCU Board of Directors.

 

MADISON, WI – April 29, 2019 – Terry Warfield, PwC Professor in Accounting at the Wisconsin School of Business, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of UW Credit Union.

Warfield is Chair of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

“Terry brings a depth of leadership and expertise in financial accounting,” says Paul Kundert, President and CEO of UW Credit Union. “We welcome him to the Board and know that his extensive banking and accounting background will further serve the needs of our members.”

Warfield’s research has focused on financial accounting standards and disclosure policies, including the effects of accounting information and disclosures on securities markets. He has also actively engaged with professional accounting issues by serving as the academic fellow at the Securities and Exchange Commission and through his service on the advisory council of the Financial Accounting Standards Board.

Prior to his academic career, he worked for five years in the banking industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.

For the past three years, Warfield has served as a volunteer member of the UW Credit Union Funds Management Committee. “I value the service the credit union provides to the university community, and I look forward to serving on the Board and helping to contribute to the organization’s success.” says Warfield.
